Is the Actikids range suitable for children under 3 years of age?

Products for children under 3 years of age fall into the category of baby products. The Actikids range is only suitable for children aged 3 and up. That said, if your child is under 3 years old, our Natural Extracts (pure plant oils that can be mixed with mineral water) can be used on children. We particularly recommend our Sweet Almond Oil, which is suitable for babies.

What is a co-wash - gentle cleansing cream?

Gentle cleansing creams are a shampoo alternative, meaning you can use real shampoo less often. Co-washes contain cleansing molecules that are much softer than shampoo and therefore remove dust, perspiration and sea salt from the hair without damaging the hair fiber or scalp. Co-washes have also been formulated for daily use.

What is the difference between a leave-in and a cream?

The main difference between these two products is in their textures and therefore their composition. Leave-ins contain more water and have more of a lotion texture. This makes them ideal for people with low porosity hair, who prefer to use light-texture hydrating products so as not to weigh their hair down. Creams are much thicker and contain more oil, making them heavier and thus more suited to high-porosity hair. Depending on your needs, you can combine a leave-in and a cream for maximum hydration.

Why don't some of your shampoos lather up very much?

Some shampoos do not contain sodium laureth, or lauryl sulfate, which is the most common detergent molecule. We have replaced it with much gentler cleansing agents with a lower environmental impact, which cleanse the hair by forming a finer lather.

What products should be used on hair in transition?

For hair in transition, it all depends on your hair type at the root. We recommend prioritizing your natural hair to keep it healthy and using these products on relaxed lengths. Depending on your hair type, you can use the Actifocre (frizzy / curly hair), Natural Touch (frizzy and fine hair) or Acticurl (curly hair) ranges. Ideally, braid the relaxed lengths to reduce the difference in texture.

Can Activilong products be used on pregnant women?

Our Actigro Serum is not recommended for pregnant women as it contains essential oil. The other Activilong products are safe to be used on pregnant women, but these products are scented, so make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in the INCI list on the back of the product.

Can adults use the Actikids range?

Yes, the Actikids range is designed for children but can also be used on adult hair. So, if you are looking for a natural, vegan, hypoallergenic perfume range with a gentle pH, Actikids is for you.

Can I combine multiple ranges?

All our ranges can be mixed and matched according to your needs. For example, you can hydrate and nourish with the Actiforce range and define curls with the Curl Activating Gel from the Acticurl range. Or, why not use shampoos and masks from one range and leave-in products from another? There are no contraindications, the main thing is to listen to your hair\’s needs.

How do I unlock the Actiforce/Actikids spray?

The Actiforce Softening Mist and the Actikids Ti Detangling Spray pump bottles must be unlocked before their first use. To do this, press the small button at the base of the pump.

Are your plant oils first cold pressed?

Organics oils are first cold pressed. The advantage of first cold press extraction is that all the oils essential molecules (vitamins and fatty acids) stay intact. You can find this information on each extract’s product sheets.

Are Activilong products natural?

Our Actiforce, Acticurl, Actigloss and Actikids ranges contain a minimum of 95% natural ingredients. We want our ranges to be truly enriched with natural plant oils so your hair can get all their benefits.

Do your products contain parabens?

All our products are guaranteed paraben-free.

Do your shampoos contain sulfates?

The shampoos in our Acticurl, Actiforce, Actikids and Actiliss ranges are guaranteed sulfate-free.

Are your ranges tested on animals?

Yes, none of our products and ingredients are tested on animals. It is important to know that animal testing of finished cosmetic products has been banned in France since 2004 and of ingredients since 2009. In 2013, the European Union introduced a law banning the marketing of all new animal-tested products and ingredients. The industry has spent years developing alternative methods to offer products that are safe for humans to use.

Do your leave-ins and creams contain alcohol?

There is no ethanol (volatile and drying) in our leave-ins and creams. There are several different types of alcohol that have completely different physical and chemical properties. Our leave-ins and creams contain fatty alcohols. They are listed as "behenyl”, “cetyl” or “cetearyl alcohol", for example. In their raw state, their appearance is similar to beeswax. They are greasy and non-toxic for the skin, and have emollient, nourishing and emulsion stabilizing properties.

Do your products contain any silicones or silicone derivatives?

Our Actiforce, Acticurl, Actigloss and Control ranges do not contain any silicones or silicone derivatives. However, they can be found in certain products in our Actiliss, Natural Touch and Actirepair ranges. We are doing our best to offer natural products with even more benefits for your hair.

What are proteins and what do they do?

Hair fiber is mostly composed of proteins called keratin (91%). This means that hair products containing proteins strengthen hair fiber damaged by chemical treatments, UV rays or overly aggressive styling methods. Small amounts of (hydrolyzed) protein can penetrate the fiber and hydrate the hair. As for larger proteins, they form a sheath around the hair shaft. It’s important to note that not all hair types appreciate protein in large quantities. Protein-enriched hair products are generally suitable for porous and/or damaged hair.

What is the LCO method?

The LCO (liquid, cream, oil) method is a routine for very dry hair, to maintain hydration for as long as possible. The aim is to soften the hair using a liquid with a high water content (a homemade spray, mist, or hair lotion). Next, hydrate the hair with a thicker creamy texture and, finally, seal in that hydration with an oil or butter. This method is suitable for highly porous hair that dries out quickly, for example.

What is porosity, and how do I adapt my routine accordingly?

Your hair’s porosity is linked to its ability to absorb and maintain hydration. It depends entirely on the opening of the hair shaft’s fish scale-like cuticles. Highly porous hair’s cuticles are open, so it absorbs products quickly, but hydration doesn't last because they don't stay locked in. On the other hand, hair with very low porosity has closed cuticles, so it’s more difficult for products to penetrate the hair fiber. As a result, they can accumulate on the surface of the hair shaft. For porous hair, we therefore recommend a rich LCO routine, with a thick moisturizer and an oil or butter to seal in hydration. For hair with low porosity, we recommend lighter textures such as leave-ins and oils.

Qu’est-ce que la porosité, et comment adapter sa routine en fonction ?

La porosité du cheveu correspond à sa capacité à absorber et à maintenir l’hydratation. Elle est directement liée à l’état d’ouverture des écailles (cuticules) de la tige capillaire. Un cheveu très poreux possède les écailles ouvertes, il absorbe donc rapidement les produits, mais l’hydratation ne perdure par car les produits ne restent pas. A l’inverse un cheveu très peu poreux possède les écailles refermées, ainsi les produits ont du mal à pénétrer la fibre capillaire et peuvent s’accumuler à la surface de la tige. Nous recommandons donc pour un cheveu poreux une routine riche (LCO), avec un hydratant épais et une huile ou un beurre pour sceller l’hydratation. Pour un cheveu peu poreux, il faut privilégier les textures plus légères de type leave-in et huile.

Yes, all our products are manufactured in our own laboratory near Paris. Product ranges are designed in our offices, then formulated in our laboratory before being manufactured on our production site. Visit our website to see all our products currently on the market. Unfortunately, some products are not available at all retailers, so we suggest you check in-store.

How do I place an order?

Add products to your cart by clicking on "Add to cart". Once you have finished shopping, go to your shopping cart at the top right of the screen, choose your free samples and click on "Order". You can modify quantities and add or delete products at any time.

How do I use a discount code?

You can add a discount code by clicking on "Shopping Cart", where you will also find details of the products you wish to purchase. There is a section on this page to add a discount code. Type the code in the "Discount Code" field then click on "Add". The total cost of the products in your cart will be adjusted automatically.
Only one discount code can be used per transaction. Once the order has been confirmed, you can no longer change/apply the code.

Do you deliver to French Overseas Territories?

We do not currently deliver to French Overseas Territories.

Can my order be delivered to another address?

When finalizing your order, you have the choice between: "Deliver to my home address" or "Add a new address". Select an address. This will be indicated on the invoice.

What if I'm not home when my order arrives?

A non-delivery notice will be left in your mailbox. You will have 15 days to collect your order from the post office indicated on the notice.

Is my payment secure?

Payment on our website is 100% secure. The transaction takes place directly between you and your bank. As no data is stored on our servers, your bank details are 100% secure.In accordance with legislation regarding electronic signatures, the online transmission of your card number for validation of your order is considered proof of the order. This makes the sums you have committed to pay for this order payable.

What methods of payment do you accept?
